¿Por qué filmar mi boda? Ya tengo un fotógrafo y no me siento a gusto al verme en vídeo.
El video es un medio ideal para la captura de bodas por dos razones principales: en primer lugar, se capta todo el evento y lo entrega en un delicioso bocadillo. En segundo lugar, una parte importante de como se ve una persona, es la forma en que se mueve, la forma en que respira, se voltea, sonríe,  etc.. Transmitir este aspecto de la novia y el novio  es un regalo único que sólo el video puede entregar .
Se consume tanto tiempo, esfuerzo y dinero del hacer su boda uno de los eventos más especiales en su vida. No importa si usted ha contratado a un carruaje tirado por seis percherones o si se va a casar descalza en un vestido de verano en la playa: su boda es especial por todo lo que representa para ustedes, a sus padres, a sus hijos y a las generaciones futuras. Es probable que tenga otros parientes también muy queridos, pero que no ha visto en mucho tiempo y vienen a compartir este importante evento con usted,  y  le gustaría poder verlos en el vídeo en un futuro. O tal vez algunos familiares no pueden asistir, en cuyo caso la filmación de su boda le permite realmente compartir este evento con ellos. Recuerde que la fotografía es una forma de arte muy diferente y no debería ni siquiera ser comparada con la videografía.
No se preocupe si a usted no le ha gustado verse a sí mismo en un video aficionado en el pasado . Apuesto que tampoco le han gustado las fotos amateur de usted mismo. Recuerde que la imagen física que tenemos de nosotros mismos se basa únicamente en las fotos que nos gustan, y de cuando posamos frente al espejo. Usted sabe que no se ve bien en cada foto, por lo que usted contrata a un fotógrafo profesional para asegurarse de que sus fotos de la boda son perfectamente hermosas. ¿Qué puede hacer un camarógrafo profesional, que mi hermana no pueda hacer con su cámara cara que recibió en Navidad?
En primer lugar, su hermana debería de estar disfrutando de su boda, no estár buscando una niñera que se haga cargo de los chicos mientras ella esta filmando. Como profesionales, nuestro trabajo comienza mucho antes del día de la boda: cuando se reúne con nosotros, queremos saber exactamente lo que espera del video de su boda, lo que desea que capturemos, que estilo le gustaría que su video llevara, etc. también asistiremos al ensayo de su boda con nuestro equipo para asegurarnos que no tendremos sorpresas en su gran día con la luz, el sonido, cableado, conectores, etc Todo lo que necesitamos de usted se le pedirá con anticipación para que usted y su familia pueda vivir el momento de la boda, entre nosotros capturamos el evento para la posteridad.
Después de la boda, vamos a revisar el material y organizarlo para usted de modo que éste sea disfrutable. Durante la boda se capturaran varias horas de material que será cortado, retocado, editado y organizado haciendo uso de software especializado. Un profesional necesita entre 25 y 40 horas para editar un vídeo de boda de dos horas dependiendo de su experiencia. Este es un proceso que toma tiempo y esfuerzo para poder entregarle usted un producto de calidad y belleza y esta responsabilidad no debería de recaer en los hombros de sus familiares.
Por último, cuando regrese de su luna de miel, tendrá su video esperando por usted, a menos de que desee incluir fotografías de su luna de miel en el video.

Why film my wedding? I already have a photographer and I’m nervous about seeing myself on video.

Film is an ideal medium for capturing weddings for two main reasons: first, it captures the entire event and delivers it in a single delicious serving. Second, an important part of what a person looks like is the way they move: the way we breathe, turn around, smile and so forth. Conveying this aspect of the individual bride and groom is a gift only film can give.

You spend so much time, effort and money making your wedding one of the most special events in your life. It doesn’t matter whether you have hired a carriage drawn by six matching Percherons or whether you are getting married barefoot in a sundress on the beach: your wedding is special because of everything it represents to you, to your parents, to your children and to future generations. You probably also have other relatives who are very dear to you, but you haven’t seen in a long time and they are coming to share this significant event with you so you would want to see them in your video in the years to come. Or perhaps those relatives cannot make it, in which case filming your wedding lets you really share it with them. Still photography is a very different art form and you shouldn’t even compare it to videography.

Don’t worry if you haven’t liked seeing yourself in amateur video in the past – I bet you don’t like bad amateur photos of yourself either. Remember that the physical image that we have of ourselves is based solely on the photos we like and phony posing in front of shiny surfaces. You know you don’t look good in every photo, which is why you hire a professional photographer to make sure that your wedding photos are perfectly gorgeous. For the same reason you hire professionals like us to make sure that your wedding video is perfectly sublime!

 

What does a professional videographer do that my sister can’t do with the expensive video camera she got for Christmas?

First of all, your sister should be enjoying your wedding, not looking for a babysitter so that she can be filming it. When you hire professional videographers, you are doing yourself a favour by ensuring a) that your wedding film will be flawless and b) that your guests can relax and be part of the wedding instead of running around with a video camera, which is our job.

As professionals, our work begins long before the wedding day: when you sit down with us, we want to know exactly what you want out of your wedding video, what you want us to film, what style of video interests you, etc. We also attend your rehearsal with our equipment to make sure that we won’t have any surprises on your big day with the light, sound, cabling, plugs, etc. Anything we require from you will be requested way in advance so that you and your family can live the wedding moment while we capture the beauty of it all for your enjoyment later.

After the wedding, we will review the footage and clean it up for you so that it is watchable. At a wedding we may capture many hours of footage which have to be waded through, touched-up, cut, pasted, and edited with specialized software. It takes a professional between 25-40 hours to edit a two-hour wedding video depending on his or her experience, much like the process of boiling down vats of maple sap into our favourite ambrosial syrup, which is another reason to save your relatives from carrying the responsibility of your wedding video on their shoulders.

Finally, when you get back from your honeymoon, we will have your video waiting for you, unless you want your honeymoon photos in the video of course!
